Job Interview Questions/Preparation for You

Hello my beautiful people, i hope you spent a wonderful Valentines' Day yesterday and for those singles - Happy Single Awareness Day! ❤️

The last time I wrote about Job Interview questions was nearly 3 years ago! You can read it here (Finding a Job in Singapore). I thought it would be good to have an update on this since so much has changed after i gotten my first job.

Summary of my work life: I got a promotion, i resigned, i looked for jobs again.

In this post, besides sharing my job interview experience, i also want to share with you on quick views about working life/being an adult since this is very related to the kind of jobs you would look for.

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS ASKED:

Because by now you would probably have some years of work experience, the type of questions your hiring manager ask u is very different. Its no longer so much on "Why do you want to work in this company?" or "Tell me more about yourself". I have received some very different questions asked. They asked you based on your skill set.

To be clear, I work in a marketing field, so questions asked can be different if you work in other fields. Please feel free to comment down below your past job interview questions! We would love to know!

- Between ur previous company & this company, what do you think is the difference?
- What do you think is the direction of this brand?
- How do you feel about this brand?
- Based on the market now, what product do you think work for customer?
- I also received some situational questions "Based on this chart, where would you run the campaigns?'
"You are given this data, what do you think is the trend now?"
- What do you think is important in this role?
- Tell me how relevant you think your past job experience is to this position u r applying?
- Tell me more about your past job experience
- What do you think you can still learn from in this new role given that you alr have experienced in this kind of work?
- Do you understand what this role is about?

These are the questions I've came across. It was a lot of situational questions and i think what the hiring manager wants to see is your reaction and how fast you think. There is no right or wrong answer, but if you happen to say something that your hiring manager also agrees then its a bonus brownie point for you.

Since my last update on job interview, I had gone to a total of 7 interviews and got an offer from 5 with the 2 failed rejected by my own previous company which took a toll on me then. I will leave this story for another time.

My advice to you when searching for a job is : look carefully at the job description & prospect of company before you apply. You do not want to burn so many bridges.

I've also learned that there is no ultimate career path you would 100% go because anything can change. Don't take it too hard on yourself. So that is why I hate it when employers ask me "What do you see yourself in 5 years time".

I also learned not to jump into a 'yes' too quickly but to consider the other factors that you may be missing. Also, be daring enough to say 'no' when you need to because you don't live for them, you live for yourself. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own actions.

If you are a student now or a graduate looking for a job, don't be afraid to explore. Just because everyone else seem like they have a direction to go doesn't make you the odd one here. You know what i see about life that makes it 'life' are all the wrong turns you make - in that you make a wrong turn, you fall, you get up and try again, you fall, you get up and try again.

With this i will end my post here. See you guys soon!

LA MER THE CLEANSING GEL | HONEST REVIEW

Its been such a long time since i did an honest review. I really love writing this section on my blog. Always your most honest reviewer.

La Mer is a luxury skincare brand in the beauty market. The price of their products easily retails from SGD100-600. The main ingredient in all of their products is the miracle broth - a fermented process of sea kelp known for speedy renewing of skin & healing properties.

Here on my hand now is their Cleansing Gel 200ml, retails at SGD190. And as you can see, it is already empty. I pretty much use everything until the last bit.

DOES IT WORK? DID MY SKIN TEXTURE IMPROVE?

Honestly, I want to be really real here. If you are thinking of just using this product for some magic to happen on your skin then it is not going to happen. My skin texture feels the same. Nothing much has really improved or did i see any significant change on my skin.

The texture of this cleanser is soapy. It will slowly lathers on your skin which is good. I use a Foreo to cleanse my face. You can get a pretty good cleanse on your face with this product if you have no makeup on. If you have makeup on, it doesn't clean away your makeup effectively. I recommend using a makeup remover as first layer of cleaning before using this cleansing gel.

My face feels tight after using this which means that the cleanser is not suitable for me. But to be fair, i haven't really found any cleanser that makes me skin feels moist after using. So give or take but i have to almost immediately slap on some lotion & moisturizer to hydrate my skin.

Packaging wise - nice firm plastic bottle. I dropped it several times and still in good shape. lol. The silver coating wears off easily though which is something i won't expect because this is a very luxury brand so should have perfect quality.

IS THIS WORTH THE MONEY?

To me, absolutely not. SGD 190 can buy me some really good cleansers. This hype is all about their secret ingredient and marketing strategies. But say if you are very wealthy, love to be pampered, then i wouldn't say no to give this a try. After all, it did really cleanse my face well.

Have you tried using a La Mer product before? Would love to hear about them from you :) .

Until then, i will see you guys again.
